September 2007 - Bristol, England
Three new initiatives educational resources have been launched in conjunction with researchers at the University of Bristol:
Ask a Biologist! is a Q & A website is aimed at school kids but adults are welcome to visit too. Experts provide answers to anything and everything about biology and palaeontology related including dinosaurs. Have you ever wondered:
Why polar bears' paws don't get cold?
How a platypus lays eggs?
What prehistoric monster made the great white shark look like a guppie?
Ask a question, read answers, and find out more!
Dinobase is an exciting website that provides information on every dinosaur ever discovered! It includes dinosaur names, facts, and descriptions. In fact, it is currently the most comprehensive list of dinosaurs on the Internet.
The information on this website is as accurate as possible because this project is an initiative of the University of Bristol in England. Many resident palaeontologists volunteer their time to ensure that the database is kept up to date, even with all of the newest discoveries!
This website is a treat for children, amateur palaeontologists and even those serious about the topic, so come take a peek...
The Bristol Dinosaur Project provides detailed information on the Bristol Dinosaur and the educational programs and outreach activities that are centered on this animal.
The Bristol Dinosaur, named Theco (Short for its scientific name, Thecodontosaurus),
is an important "missing link" which requires further study. The University of Bristol is working hard to raise funds for further research and is educating people locally and worldwide about the significance of this amazing animal. Click here to find out more...
